After more than two decades without a home stadium, Council Rock High School South in Northampton Township, Bucks County will soon have one of its own.

In a unanimous 9-0 vote, the Council Rock School Board approved contracts to move forward with Phase Two of a $7 million stadium project, marking a major milestone for the school and the surrounding community.

According to reporting from Newtown Patch (February 20, 2026), the board awarded:

  • $313,700 to Boyle Construction for project management

  • $540,000 to Marotta/Main Architects for stadium design

This next phase will bring a 3,000-seat stadium to Council Rock High School South, complete with:

  • Permanent restroom facilities

  • A concession stand

  • A press box

  • Expanded event capabilities

This development is especially significant because Council Rock High School South has been the only high school in Bucks County without its own stadium.

A 20-Year Wait for a Home Field

Since opening in 2002, Council Rock South athletic teams have played home football games and major events at Council Rock High School North. While functional, it meant South students and families never had a true home-field experience.

The stadium project originally began in 2021 with installation of:

  • A synthetic turf field

  • A new running track

  • Temporary bleachers

Phase Two completes the vision by delivering a fully equipped stadium that will host:

  • High school football and athletic events

  • Marching band competitions

  • Community gatherings

  • Outdoor graduation ceremonies

The vote was met with strong community support, including a reported petition with more than 1,000 signatures advocating for the project.

How the Stadium Is Being Funded

District officials stated that the $7 million Phase Two project can be financed within the district’s existing debt service structure, meaning no tax increase is anticipated to fund the construction.

That financial planning component was a key factor in the board’s approval.

The Council Rock School District has long been considered one of the most sought-after districts in Bucks County. Investments like this reinforce the district’s reputation and can play a role in sustained property value stability.
